Sake Nation “Anime, Voice Actors, and Japanese Sake. Part 3”

Tokyo’s Akihabara and Ikebukuro are widely known as anime “holy sites,” and at the center of Ikebukuro stands Animate Ikebukuro Main Store, one of Japan’s most famous anime retailers. As the flagship store, it has become a true destination for fans from around the world, drawing visitors who come to experience anime culture at its source.
In front of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store, a park nearby has hosted the Toshima Gijo Festival for two consecutive years. Backed by the Japan Ginjo Sake Association—a long-established organization in Japan’s sake industry—the event is a pioneering collaboration that brings together voice actors and Japanese sake culture.
Over 40 long-established sake breweries from across Japan take part, bringing their own sake for the event. Visitors can enjoy tastings alongside voice actors, hear their live impressions and comments on the sake, and even attend stage sessions where the voice actors share personal stories related to Japanese sake and their own experiences with it.
The event drew an impressive lineup of guests, including Moeka Koizumi, Yui Makonio, Ai Kayano, Shugo Nakamura, Haruka Kudo, Kiyono Yasuno, and even Kenchi Tachibana of EXILE. With such a star-studded guest list, the plaza in front of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store was packed with visitors, creating a lively and crowded atmosphere throughout the event.
All of the participating voice actors and guests are openly known as sake lovers, and many of their fans have also come to share that same appreciation for Japanese sake.
For fans, the experience of toasting together with their favorite voice actors over the very same drink, along with hearing candid personal stories that rarely come up elsewhere, made this an unmissable event.
The festival is also expected to return next year, although the venue has yet to be decided. If you have the chance, it is certainly worth attending.

日本のアニメの聖地と言えば秋葉原や池袋ですが、その聖地には「アニメイト」というアニメコンテンツの日本でも最も有名なお店があります。そのアニメイトの本店は池袋です。
池袋アニメイト本店は、世界中からアニメ大好きなお客様が集まる、まさにアニメの聖地となっています。
そんなアニメイト池袋本店の前の公園で2年続けて「豊島超吟醸祭」が開催されました。
このイベントは日本吟醸酒協会という日本でも大変歴史のある日本酒のグループがバックアップして声優さんと日本酒のコラボイベントを日本でも先駆けて行っています。
日本全国から40を超える伝統ある日本酒の蔵がお酒を持参し、声優さんと一緒に日本酒を飲んでいただきコメントしてもらったり、日本酒に関する声優さんのプライベートなお話しを聞くステージもあります。
小泉萌香さん、牧野由依さん、茅野愛衣さん、仲村宗悟さん、工藤晴香さん、安野希世乃さん、そして何とエグザイルの橘ケンチといった豪華な顔ぶれで池袋アニメイト前の広場は大混雑になりました。
出演声優さんとゲストはみんな「日本酒大好き」と公言している方々で、そのファンの皆さんも日本酒を一緒に愛してくれています。
声優さんの声で一緒に同じお酒で乾杯が出来る事、プライベートの話がたくさん飛び出す事など、ファンにとってはたまらないイベントになりました。
